The Veterans Memorial Bridge in Fort Dodge, first opened in 1969, is undergoing significant enhancements to honor local veterans. Phase 1 includes illuminated emblems of the Armed Services, followed by illuminated entry signs and decorative railings in later phases. The final phase will establish a Veterans Plaza with a seating area, columns representing the six military branches, and a wall honoring donors. These updates aim to beautify the bridge while symbolizing the community's appreciation for veterans.
