Oleson Park is one of the Fort Dodge's bigger parks and has many amenities including a playground, open shelters, splashpad, trail connectivity, open green space, and seasonal restrooms. The Splash Pad is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day and is available to rent for gatherings at which time it is closed to the public.

The Oleson Park Bandshell, also known as the Music Pavilion, is located here. This historic site features regular concerts by the Karl King Municipal Band during the summer and is a site for various other community events.

This park is also the site of the Monkelien Pavilion, an enclosed, climate-controlled shelter available year-round. It also has a kitchenette with fridge and microwave, handicap-accessible bathrooms, and a concrete patio with a grill.

Splash Pad: an area for water play that has no standing water. The water in the system is recycled/treated water that is treated to at least the same level of quality as swimming pool water standards.  To help us in keeping our public aquatic facilities clean , we ask that swim diapers be worn at all times, those with diarrhea refrain from playing in the water, and we all do our part to NOT encourage the drinking of pool/splash pad water.

         - Swim suits required for play in splash pad

         - No street shoes

         - Swim diapers required if not potty-trained

         - Pets outside of fenced area only

         - Plastic containers only

         - No smoking

         - Walk please! Not responsible for injuries while running

         - No gum

         - Leave bicycles outside of fenced area

         - Adult supervision required
